it takes a while for the 'path' to show up). When a 'client' player orders a unit to move, there is a slight delay in clicking (i.e. The best I can describe the experience is as follows: There are no errors, crashes, disconnects, or anything. Our current version is "Verne v2.6.2 (e132)". We've tried previous versions of the game (in the Paradox Launcher version), including 2.6.1 and 2.4.0. The stutter begins immediately once the game begins.ġ3. The stutter is present regardless of in-game settings we’ve even tried a tiny map with no AI and with all DLC disabled.ġ2. This is likely not a system performance issue, as our frame-rates are still high (and panning the camera remains smooth).ġ1. We have tried switching to the “Paradox Launcher” version, but the stutter is present in this version as well.ġ0. The stutter is present regardless of who is hosting the game.ĩ. With the update, the two steam users (even without me joining) have constant stutters.Ĩ. Without this update, the two steam users have a flawless experience together in multiplayer (i.e. To play together, the steam users have switched to the "Stellaris_Test" beta update.Ħ. All of our systems are high end (4-8 cores, 16gb ram, GTX 970 to 1080ti, SSDs, etc.).ĥ.

None of us have problems in single player the game runs well.Ĥ. In other games our ping is usually around 30ms, and we've rarely experienced lag.ģ. Geographically, we are all very close by, and have good internet connections. I purchased the game on 'GoG', whereas my two friends purchased the game on Steam.Ģ. Is there any fix for this issue? We’ve done a fair bit of searching, but have yet to find anything.ġ. We've even tried switching to the "paradox launcher" version, but the stutter appears present there, too. Without it installed, the two steam users can play together flawlessly – but with it, the game stutters constantly.
CONDUCT TOGETHER MULTIPLAYER UPDATE
Unfortunately, this update appears to be the source of our problems.

With this update, we are all able to join the same lobby and play together (this seems to be impossible without it). To enable multiplayer between us, my friends have switched to the “Stellaris_Test” update under the “betas” section on Steam. I purchased the game several months ago on ‘GOG’, whereas my two friends have owned it on Steam since release (or shortly after). From our testing, the issue seems to come from the use of “cross-platform play”. Regardless of what we’ve tried, the two “client” players constantly lag behind the “server” player by several in-game days, causing the game to constantly stutter. Recently, two friends and I have found the time to play Stellaris multiplayer together – unfortunately, this has been extremely problematic.
